The Read Me document is very extensive - 4 pages long as of now (2002-04-11). Please read that first if you have any questions. I do, however, need to provide some information as to what the Examples do.
Here is the beginning of a little explanation on how to write the kind of executables suitable for use with CocoaServiceBuilder.
First, if you look at the examples in a plain text editor, and if you understand that they're shell scripts, you should be fine and need no more explanation.
If you can write a compiled executable in a language such as C, C++, Pascal, then the resulting executable can be used to make a service.
If you write in a scripting language such as Python, the Perl, or Tcl/Tk or any shell script langauge then just make sure that the first line of the file has the appropriate instruction on where to find the executable for that scripting language (for example, an sh shell script would need to have #!/bin/sh on the first line). To find it, using the which command can help. For example, if you have python installed, to find out where it is you could type which python.
