AppleScript is a scripting language used on MacOSX as well as MacOS. MacOS X also has Unix underpinnings, and so there are potential conflicts of roles between AppleScriptVersusUnixScripts.

AppleScript can also be used to make applications with a UserInterface via AppleScriptStudio.
